comprehensive approach
Delivering an individualized experience to help
you reach your goals
We provide our athletes and members with the tools to maximize fitness, improve sports performance and crush personal goals. This is why athletes from multiple MLB organizations, countless college programs and local high schools seek our expertise to handle their sports performance and physical therapy needs.
Performance training systems
Our approach to developing athletes begins with a comprehensive assessment that includes a medical and training history, movement screening and further orthopedic testing for each individual. We then create the optimal long term training program customized to each person.
Physical therapy
Our staff are Doctors of Physical Therapy trained to specialize in the effective treatment of orthopedic and sports injuries. We have experience treating all types of these injuries, including post-surgical care and return to sports protocols.
meet the team
At Adams Performance, we work with athletes and active adults across Henrico and the greater Richmond area who want to move better, recover faster, and get back to the activities they love. Our team of Doctors of Physical Therapy blends hands-on clinical care with performance training, so the same people who treat your injury can also help you build the strength to prevent the next one.
Many of the people who walk through our doors are dealing with knee pain and runner’s knee, shoulder pain and rotator cuff injuries, or low back pain and sciatica that’s kept them off the field or out of the gym. We also see athletes recovering from ACL injuries and post-surgical procedures, along with tennis elbow, golfer’s elbow, and plantar fasciitis that can linger without the right treatment plan. For athletes and weekend warriors alike, our sports physical therapy in Henrico combines orthopedic evaluation with sport-specific programming to get you back to competing, not just back to pain-free.
Every plan starts with a thorough evaluation, including movement screening and orthopedic testing, so we understand what’s driving your pain before treatment begins. From there, we use a mix of manual therapy, dry needling, and therapeutic exercise, layered with return-to-sport training as you progress, so you’re never just doing rehab for rehab’s sake.
The goal is always the same: get you back to training, competing, and living the way you want, with fewer visits and a plan that makes sense for your body. If pain is holding you back, reach out and let’s talk about what recovery looks like for you.
